This has been a very special couple of weeks for MondoPlayer.
We submitted the Windows 7 and Windows 8 versions of MondoPlayer to hundreds of download sites around the world and the response has been amazing.
We’re seeing downloads from every corner of the planet.
Every day we look at our server logs and check the IP Addresses of our new users to verify the country/city producing our traffic.
From Sidney to Rio de Janeiro, from Ankara to Halifax, people are downloading and installing MondoPlayer. Aside from the US, UK and Canada we’re seeing a lot of traffic from Brazil, Turkey and Czech Republic.
Our marketing has turned into a real-time geography lesson!
We can already see that we are facing some challenges.
Users don’t always get the content they want when they search for videos using our system. We have a lot of work to do on improving our search technology.
We’ve also noticed that many users are not taking advantage of our FREE Upgrade. We’ve either not been making the upgrade process easy enough or we haven’t sold the benefits of having a fully functional account capable of creating customized video Streams.
In the next two weeks we will be scrambling to release a vastly improved search system and streamline the installation process.
We have noticed that people are particularly keen on playing music videos, because our system makes it easy to watch music videos in a constant stream while doing other things on the desktop. So we’re going to spend a lot more effort on indexing music content.
There is so much video on the web that we’re focusing on News, Sports and Music until the MondoPlayer community can grow in numbers and our users’ index other content themselves.
On thing is clear from our early user feedback, our search technology is going to need constant work.
We’re thrilled to have the support from our users, but we’re also really keen getting feedback. Until now we listened to our intuition as we designed the technology. Now our users are in the drivers seat.
We want to hear from you. If you have any comments, please feel free to contact us here on MediaVidi or the MondoPlayer forum at: MondoTag Discussion Forum
We’re looking forward to an exciting 2014!
