ChemSec — the International Chemical Secretariat —is an independent non-profit organization that advocates for substitution oftoxic chemicals with safer alternatives. It operates globally to facilitatecontact between decision makers, companies and research in the fight againsthazardous chemicals; advocates for progressive legislation and sustainablecorporate chemicalsmanagement;and offers guidance to companies committed to changing the way they work withchemicals.
Created in Sweden in 2002, the goal was to highlight the goodchemical-management practices taking place, to collaborate with differentcompanies and to share the outcomes with political decisionmakers.
