“Free speech absolutist” Elon Musk’s Twitter algorithm has been heavily suppressing any topic regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine, downranking it with the same vehemence as toxic, violent, or hate content on the platform, according to an analysis of the Twitter source code. Over the weekend, Aakash Gupta, a product manager who has worked at major tech firms including Google and Epic Games, posted a lengthy dive into the Twitter recommendation source code.
