First of all, DSP stands for Demand-Side Platform. These DSPs are a type of software that advertisers use to automate the process of buying ad inventory from publishers. Programmatic advertising is a way to do advertising using a program. These ads are run through a DSP (think Taboola Outbrain, Steelhouse, MNTN, Amazon), are automated, and are often upper funnel.
