72 million Americans purchasing on Cyber Monday [Video]

HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) – It’s predicted that 72 million Americans will make a purchase today as part of Cyber Monday.

If you’re browsing the deals, there are a few things you should do to protect your money.

New Better Business Bureau data shows that this year 87% of people who report being targeted by an online shopping scam lose money.

Adobe predicts Americans will spend just over 13 billion dollars this Cyber Monday. That is up 6% from last year.

“Consumers are savvy. They’re finding new ways to make purchases that provide them value while getting a good discount as well,” said Eric Matisoff, Adobe.

But scammers are getting savvy too. They are using AI to make fake websites look more realistic.
