Aggies convert third downs at high rate in win over Bulldogs [Video]

STARKVILLE, Miss. – When the Texas A&M offense needed a third-down conversion on Saturday against Mississippi State, the Aggies often got it.

A 9-of-14 mark (64.3%) on third-down tries against the Bulldogs was a key metric in the Aggies’ 34-24 win at Davis Wade Stadium. A&M came into the game with a middle-of-the-pack conversion rate on third down at 41.9%, good for 10th in the league and 57th in the nation. The Aggies amplified their money down success on Saturday, though.

“I thought we were very choppy on offense,” A&M head coach Mike Elko said. “We never really got the run game going quite like we wanted to.
