CSA records 350 online fraud cases between January and March 2025 [Video]

According to the CSA, cybercriminals are taking advantage of the increased commercial activity around these celebrations to defraud unsuspecting individuals through online shopping scams, brand impersonation, and phishing schemes.

In a statement issued on Friday, March 28, 2025, the CSA revealed that it had recorded 305 online fraud cases between January and March 2025.

“The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has received 305 cases of online fraud between January and March this year, a significant increase from the 194 cases recorded during the same period last year. Similarly, the total financial loss has risen from GH¢ 2,404,161 last year to GH¢ 4,425,851 this year,” the statement noted.
