PEORIA (25News Now) – Despite the convenience and ease of online shopping, the National Retail Federation expects 66% of Black Friday shoppers to shop in person on Black Friday.
In the past, people swarmed their local malls first thing in the morning.
However, for this year’s Black Friday at Peoria’s Northwoods Mall, there was a lot less traffic in the morning, and several shoppers said they missed the chaos of it all.
“I enjoyed the chaos, but I have to say it is much nicer not to have to stand in line for hours or stand out in the cold waiting for any of the stores to open,” said shopper Andrea Schnowske.
“I miss the crowds of people, but it’s nice that you can get in and out and all that,” said Donna Turchi.
Another shopper, Jimmy Hernandez, said he and his family have a special shopping strategy for the day.
