Wayfair has taken its “Wayborhood” on the road as it ventures beyond the e-commerce space.

Commuters, tourists and passersby walking through Vanderbilt Hall in New York’s Grand Central Terminal got a pleasant surprise and some plushy respites last week when the home goods retailer along with former NBA All-Star Blake Griffin brought the purple passion of its fictional neighborhood to life. The activation invited visitors to strike a (chair) pose, and pull up a seat — both in-person and through its online app — to find affordable furniture finds and celebrate the debut of the retailer’s Chair-Aides Challenge sweepstakes.

Visitors of the pop-up perused, tested and relaxed in the curated selection of styles from the brand’s inventory of 200,000 chairs.
