Closer, a short film promoting Facebook’s Portal video-calling devices, will debut on television and digital channels Wednesday.
Facebook began sharing the spot via its social channels last week.
Closer was created by the marketing team for Portal to highlight the joy of staying connected through everyday activities during the era of social distancing.
The spot highlights activities such as stories, exercise, cooking and family game night and how Portal helps people feel like they’re in the same room together.
A Facebook spokesperson added that families have also used the Portal, Portal Mini and Portal TV to remotely celebrate Easter and Passover, as well as to connect with loved ones who are currently in nursing and assisted living facilities.
