TULSA, Okla. — People had a chance to meet Chief Meteorologist James Aydelott and the FOX23 Severe Weather at the Severe Weather Awareness Expo on Saturday.
The event took place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Woodland Hills Mall, near 71st and Memorial.
Aside from FOX23, other local news stations, nonprofits, private businesses and governments agencies, like the National Weather Service, were at the event.
Eileen Neighbors, director of marketing and business development at Woodland Hills said the event is typically held in April because of Oklahoma’s increased chances of severe weather in spring.
“We know that the winds kick up and you know you’re going to have some rain and possibly tornado activity, and so if you come out to the mall you’re able to visit again with meteorologists and learn the tips and tricks on how to stay safe and weather aware,” Neighbors said.
